We Have a few quality Studs that We take pride in owning, working and making available to a few approved females.

We Start With The Blood....and Finish With The Work

The Males We have are carefully selected from bloodlines that are known to produce quality dogs consistently throughout generations. Then each dog is put through a lot of hard work to ensure He also meets those standards before even being considered as a Stud for Brick House Catahoulas - no riding on famous relatives coat tails for Us! We don't stop there, either. These dogs have to KEEP proving themselves over time and throughout their lives in order to prove longevity and health, strength, temperament, and stability as a whole package. If they don't have the whole package then they will be replaced. We are constantly wanting to improve upon the genetics that We have, and it's not an easy process. Then again, We are not looking for the easy route - We want to have the type of quality and performance dogs that will be remembered.

 

When We do accept a female in the kennel for live cover breeding, She will have to be tested and negative within 25 days to canine Brucellosis to assure the safety to Our own breeding programs. We also require all brood females to be healthy, parasite free and ready for breeding, and to be picked up in a reasonable time frame after the breeding is completed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

STUD SERVICE

 

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY, Limited Breeding is Our Policy.

 

More puppies produced is more opportunities for puppies to slip through the cracks into hands of people that will provide less than adequate care and training, that means more dogs with Our bloodlines that did not make into the hands of people making the most of the dog, or more dogs in the world that look bad or turn into possible culls with BH name in pedigree.  That's not what were about even if its a few more dollars in our pockets. We would rather build a solid reputation with repeat clients wanting a quality dog that works natural with minimal training and give excellent referrals to others looking for that perfect working dog. This includes Our studs also, We only breed to a few limited females per year, and require all females to be Brucellosis tested within 25 days of breeding to Our Studs. We take the safety to Our studs very seriously as We put tremendous amount of work and mileage into making sure Our dogs are worthy of breeding. The same with puppies produced If the puppy is not performing top shelf quality many times will be thought to because of the sire, therefore We want to assure the female is a top shelf performance working female before even considering breeding to Our stud dog, then if a pup is a cull and blamed on the sire there actually is a 50/50 shot its his fault!
